Glad you asked, the octopus directly relates to the Eight Great Arms of Leadership, because like arms of an octopus, all eight of the arms can move independently and complete their own task, but it is only when they work together in one accord, that the most advancement takes place. In order to achieve greatness in today's world, much like an octopus, we must be nimble, fluid and be willing to change form based on current opportunities.

 The purple crayon is an ode to my mentor who taught that when talking with executives, you need to get out the purple crayon, because the higher the message goes in the organization, the simpler it must be to understand.

The purple crayon is here to remind us to keep life simple in order to achieve the greatest results.
